Andy, you can do better than that.
In your Windows directory, find the Windows\Cookies directory
and delete them all. Find the Windows\Temp directory and
delete the files there and in the sub-directories.
Find the Windows\Temporary Internet Files directory and
delete the files there and in the sub-directories
In the Internet Explorer or Netscape directories, look
for a cookies file or directory and delete them all.
Also find the Cache directory there and delete all files
there. Be sure to hold down shift when deleting or the files
will go to the Recycle Bin which you need to empty also.
Also be aware of financial stuff in Quicken or Money.
After deleting all files that you need to, you should run
Scandisk and then defrag before giving up the computer.
If you have Power Desk, you can use File/Destroy to
totally get rid of the files. If you don't have it,
you can get it here: http://www.ontrack.com/
Deleting merely tells FAT it can reuse that space
on the drive and those files can be recovered with
an undelete utility such as Norton.
You can select all of this text and paste it into
Notepad for future reference.
Happy Holidays.
Good luck,
provo
