Chernobyl Virus; I had it and it took my C drive and my
V/card, but did not touch the D drive. I had to reformat
my hard-drive and lost all of my information that I had
stored. When I turned off my computer it booted back-up
with a message saying insert boot disk and hit any key.
I did and got the A prompt, then try the C: drive nothing
no files, but I have 3.2 gig drive that was partition
2.1 on the C drive and 1.0 gig on the D drive. Well,
the C drive was showing 800,000 kb on the drive so
where was the rest of the 1.3 gig of my infor, and why
was all the infor on the D drive. So, I formatted the
drive and a V/card back in the green: i hope!!
The first thing I did was switch the Virus Scan from
McAfee to Norton. McAfee was up-dated two day before
and a full scan was done, but idi not catch the virus
Oh, after the formatted I did have 2.1 gig on the
C drive and 1 gig on the D drive.
