Does the Chernobyl virus only run on the 26 th ?

Evreywhere I read that the Chernobyl virus (or CIH) only run on the 26th of a month.
But it has crashed my PC the 2nd of May ! There was no problem on the hard drive but it has flashed the Bios.
And I know someone that had the same problem the same day !
