When you use fdisk after the CIH attack, you might get rubbish (I had 4 primary FAT 12's). The thing to repair your disk is to first delete all partition info shown by fdisk, so nothing shows up anymore. Then you just run MRECOVER, which asks you to estimate the size of your first partition. The best thing to do is to just enter 0 and start searching from the beginning, it only takes a little more time. After MRECOVER has rebuilt your partition tables and FAT's, everything is back to 'normal', so including your viruses! It's smart to turn back your clock in CMOS before you start. Then run a virus scanner and be patient for all files to be cleaned.
Good luck!
