I was struck by the Chernobyl virus several weeks ago
and discovered it's presence within a day of infection.
By then the virus had infected 93 .exe files. I fixed
my system with the latest version of McAfee Virus
software. My advice to users is simply this, "DO NOT
OPEN ZIPPED FILES FROM A STRANGER OR FROM RETURNED
EMAIL TO SOMEONE YOU DO KNOW!"
The culprit in my case was DFitzs8393@aol.com. The
culprit emailed me after he sent the virus and mocked
me for my stupidity. Fair enough, but where does
one go to report such a malicious act?
