We have a UMAX Astra 1220U as a secondary scanner. It seems to work great if a little slow compared to our larger, more expensive flatbed and is USB. My only gripe is with the transparency adapter I purchased with it. It is about to go back for the third time! Cost twice as much as the scanner. Works once or twice, then quits.
Umax has a different reason/solution each time.
