I recently found what seems a very nasty and cunning virus on my work PC and it is causing me a lot of problems to clean off. Called "Results" it appeared to be some sort of addon macro that I didnt know about so I stupidly left it alone. Since the begining of the year I have problems with complex excel sheets which when I made changes to and saved, lost all changes but only some of the time??!! I thought it was just me getting confused but after looking at the code I see that it was not. Upon execution of the macro it identifies if the year is equal to an equation which results in 1999 (hint towards the start of problems!). Then it randomly chooses to either replecate into an uneffected spreadsheet or to mess about with data. How it actually does this I have not had time to figure out, because rather than understand the code I am trying to figure out a way to eradicate the macro which itself is within a protected hidden sheet. To just unmask and delete this sheet will not suffice as this activates some means of re-installing the macro virus. I am in following the avenue of changing some existing code for the Laroux macro cleaner to see if that will work.
If anybody has come across this bugger and knows how to eradicate I would very much appreciate your assistance.
