: I have a homebuilt computer with win95 OSR1. I recently purchased an AMD K6-2 350mhz processor and it wont let me boot. I get a general protection fault or a divide overflow error and i can't boot up. I've found that there is a fix in both Win95 OSR 2 and win98, but i can't upgrade. What can i do? Microsoft apparently has a solution through calling, they just don't post the solution. N E 1 know what i can do?

Try to boot in safe and run patch 586xirq (usually available for VIA chipset MB.)
If you cannot find it write me at nickolai.novikov@iname.com and I will send it for you.
Good luck
