I've been using linux for a few years now, and will never go back to Microcrap... I have found on the average, it is as easy if not easier to install, configure and use as any MS product. Now with the growing popularity, the applications market will be much more robust, and who knows, you might even find your favorite apps ported to linux in the very near future.
