: Big Blue never listend to me in the early stages of computer development.
Say it again! Now THAT was a monopoly. Big Blue got that moniker for a reason. In the words of the president of Honeywell, testifying in IBM's monopoly trial, "what is our competitive position vis-a-vis IBM? That is like asking where does a bear do it in the woods: any damn place he wants to!" Like Microsoft? maybe. It is hard to avoid stepping on ants sometimes when you are really big.
:I have ideas that would knock the socks off Microsoft.
And I feel sure MS would like to hear about them if you were serious about that. They not only listen, they seek out the best people as a founding policy. I think that is why they grow.
: The software today is still primitive. You still cannot do what you really want to do with the current software.
Right, and Gates knows that better than most people, he says it all the time. I can't help feeling a kinship for someone like Gates that still pushes the envelope and remembers the dream we all started out with in the 60's to wire America and give the freedom to communicate to every person in the world. The Global Village. It's a hell of a lot more inspiring than CEO's who only talk about their grubby little stock options and cry to Uncle Sam when they lose.
