That depends entirely on the content. A clear yes, if
there is something to learn on that channel. Most of
the proverbial "computerheads/buffs/nerds" may not need
that but they constitute a small minority of 10% or
less.
If the internet aspires to become the home of all or
most people, education is needed, simpler and more user
friendly software is needed, lower prices are needed.
If a TV channel directs most of its attention to the
other 90% of the population, there is no reason why it
shouldn't become a resounding success.
If, however, the programming consists mostly of
"nerdhead" talkshows that nobody else understands,
failure is certain.
