Web Site Security Assessment & Certificationby Dave MurphyISSN 1535-3613
FoundSecure is a certification seal granted to organizations with robust security policies that have been implemented and tested. To qualify for the FoundSecure seal, a site must undergo a series of security assessments that include Internet penetration testing, Web application review, war dialing, and policy analysis. The FoundSecure certification satisfies elements of the audit requirements for HIPAA, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, a national standard to protect the privacy of personal health information.
Dave's OpinionOne of my acquaintances has worked for many years on the HIPAA and has briefed me on the wide-ranging effects this legislation will have toward online security.
