Yahoo! Inc. will offer wireless Web access to commuters on three of the most popular commuter train routes in the U.S. Today Yahoo! announced an agreement with Amtrak to market interactive rail cars that are equipped with Compaq iPAQ Pocket PCs.

Commuters will be able to logon and check Web-based information resources on the following rail lines: Acela Regional, (Washington, D.C. - Boston), the Capitols (Sacramento - Oakland - San Jose), and the Hiawatha (Chicago - Milwaukee).

Now I'm sad to be a flier. I've been looking for an excuse to ride the rails for a while, maybe I'll have to do some hands-on research.
