CERT Under AttackInternet security watchdog is target of DDoS
DDoS Attack Against CERTby Dave MurphyISSN 1535-3613
The DDoS attack started Tuesday morning. DDoS attacks are initiated from a single control point that then instigates multiple, sometimes hundreds or thousands, of computers under a degree of control to send bogus information packets to a single receiver. The traffic forces system overloads and takes the target offline. CERT, known for its security advisories, said it has alternate ways to issue security alerts if necessary. CERT worked with various organizations, including ISPs, to investigate and stop the attack.
