IT May Be A Scooter

by Dave Murphy
ISSN 1535-3613

Dave Murphy, DGL President & ITrain founder IT, the mystery invention code-named ''Ginger'' that I earlier reported in this e-zine may be little more than a motorized mini-scooter. Although the technology world is buzzing with rumors of the Ginger device, today's filing with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), according to Reuters, describes the device as "class of transportation vehicles for carrying an individual over ground...that is unstable with respect to tipping when...not powered."

The device is the brainchild of millionaire inventor Dean Kamen and six co-inventors.

Harvard Business School Press is said to have paid $250,000 for a book detailing "IT" that is set to be unveiled in 2002 by Kamen, who has created such important devices as a portable insulin pump and a wheelchair that climbs stairs.
