High-End Linux ServerDell shows off what it can do with Linux

The server will access IBM's DB2 database and run mySAP.com, SAP AG's Internet-enabled electronic-business application suite. In addition to Dell's technology showpiece, Michael Dell, company founder, chairman, and CEO, will offer the opening keynote. Dell's support for 64-bit Linux will ensure a place for the high-end operating environment in enterprise-wide applications. In a related Linux move, Dell will equip over 1,400 Toyota and Lexus dealerships with Linux-based PowerApp web appliance servers. The systems will be used to present digital multimedia presentations to employees and prospective car buyers Watch for IBM, Compaq and Hewlett-Packard to announce enterprise-related Linux server projects next week during the Linux convention.
