ISSN 1535-3613

Dave Murphy, DGL President & ITrain founder Dell Computer Corp. will demonstrate a PowerEdge server with an Intel 64-bit Itanium processor running Red Hat Linux next week a the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo.

The server will access IBM's DB2 database and run mySAP.com, SAP AG's Internet-enabled electronic-business application suite.

In addition to Dell's technology showpiece, Michael Dell, company founder, chairman, and CEO, will offer the opening keynote.

Dell's support for 64-bit Linux will ensure a place for the high-end operating environment in enterprise-wide applications.

In a related Linux move, Dell will equip over 1,400 Toyota and Lexus dealerships with Linux-based PowerApp web appliance servers. The systems will be used to present digital multimedia presentations to employees and prospective car buyers
