WordPerfect 9 Truncates RTF Files
by Dave Murphy
ISSN 1535-3613

Dave Murphy, DGL President & ITrain founder Corel WordPerfect 9 has a nasty bug that truncates files when they are saved as RTF documents. RTF is a common format used when transferring files between dissimilar word processing programs.

Tests were performed by KeyLabs at the request of BugNet and confirmed the RTF save problem. Corel confirms the problem and offers no work around other than to try multiple times to save the file. in RTF format. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

During BugNet testing, using a Windows NT4 system, an 11-page document was truncated to four pages. No record was made of the seven lost pages.

What do you think? Have you run into this problem? Did you find a workaround? Leave your comments on the message center
