Dell Ships Over 1,000 Linux PCs
Anne Birlin, a spokeswoman for Dell in Round Rock, Texas, said the sale to Burlington represented an "expansion into a new market," that permits her company to compete for existing Unix clients. However, I wonder if her comments aren't offered to prevent offending Microsoft since Windows wasn't included in the sale. Mike Prince, the chief technology officer at Burlington Coat Factory, said "Linux is rock solid. It has a tremendous amount of mind share. It is unifying Unix in a way that it has never been before."
