Secure, shared Internet access
Is it hard to set up? Your LAN users will begin productively using the Internet less than 15 minutes after delivery of your Instant Internet. Email, Web browsing, and newsgroups have never been easier! Every Internet site is available through Instant Internet. In a nutshell, Instant Internet is a shared Internet connection. Will it work if I don't have a network? However, if you have a network already installed, don't worry, Instant Internet will not use one of your network addresses or licenses. How many users can access the Internet? If you need more than the 100 concurrent licenses, multiple Instant Internet devices can be connected to your LAN to provide additional access and load balancing. How does Instant Internet work? Winsock data from your workstations (Netscape Navigator, Internet Explorer, Eudora, etc.) are automatically routed by Instant Internet to its internal 56 Kb/s modem, internal 128nbsp;Kb/s ISDN card, or to a digital routing device, such as an ext ernal ISDN, frame relay, T1 , or T3 connection. Instant Internet matches the type of cabling on your LAN -- 10Base-2 "thinnet, coax"; 10Base-T (UTP); Token Ring; and combination LAN cabling. But, I need security! Do you use this product yourself? We tested the system with 12 classroom workstations concurrently accessing Websites, and we saw no degradation in performance. "I expected to see the modem fail to keep up; however, it was rare for multiple stations to concurrently download heavy graphic files, and even when they were, the dialup connection held up under load yielding a consist ently high throughput." said DGL President, Dave Murphy. One of Damar Group, Ltd.'s goals is to make the Internet accessible to as many people as possible. Mr. Murphy continues, "Instant Internet is the only product we have tested that may be setup, ready to go in less than 15 minutes from the time of delivery. It promises first-time, every-time secure Internet connectivity."
How do I control users' access? Is this more expensive than separate modems?
Instant Internet was originally designed for use with Novell NetWare LANs. However, it fully supports and can be used with any network running the IPX protocol: NetWare, Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, Windows NT, Lantastic -- all major P C network operating systems. Instant Internet is flexible. Using the Windows-based administration programs, you configure and manage each users' Internet access with just a mouse click. You control access privileges by time, day, IP address, domain, and even Internet address port.
Can I tell when users are online? What if I have a question?
