Since the original publication of this news article, additional information has become available that affects the Microsoft Office 97 SR-2.

MS Office 97 SR-2 Update
The Office 97 Update has been recently enhanced to provide you with the ability to sort, filter, and easily organize information on Office downloads. We have also enhanced Office Update to make it more accessible for those users who are blind or have low vision and need to use the site with screen readers. We take advantage of the latest browser technology to make these additional features possible.This technology is included in IE 4.01.

You will be able to enjoy the benefits of Office Update, such as downloads of Service Releases, other product updates, add-ins and templates, as well as their supporting documentation by using most browser technology, including Netscape Navigator, Internet Explorer 3.0 or Internet Explorer 4.01.

Office 97 SR-2 is a free update for Office 97, consisting of a series of recent fixes and designed to make it even easier for customers to deploy Office 97. SR-2 includes currently available downloads such as the Excel 97 for Windows Auto-Recalculation Patch.

Office 97 SR-2 requires that you have installed Office 97 SR-1. If you are not already running Service Release 1 on your computer, please download and install it first. SR-1 will also be available on the SR-2 patch CD, which can be ordered free of charge.*

To determine whether you have installed SR-1, simply click About on the Help menu in any Office 97 application, and look for "SR-1" after the name of the application near the top of the dialog box. When using Microsoft Word, for instance, you should see "Microsoft Word 97 SR-1."

*While SR-2 is free to the majority of registered Office 97 customers, there may be fulfillment variances outside of North America. Please consult your local Microsoft subsidiary for specific terms and conditions.
