White Pine Software Inc. announced an update to it's popular CU-SeeMe video conferencing software. Version 3.1 includes improves audio and network performance by enhancing prevention of packet loss over Internet connections. This will result in higher-quality remote video imaging.

CU-SeeMe V3.1 will reduce network operating overhead by allowing audio transmission via the G.723 standard. When used in along with MeetingPoint Conference Server, also by White Pine, CU-SeeMe V3 allows up to 12 concurrent video sessions. The Meeting Point Conference Server allows Windows 95, Windows NT, and Mac OS workstations to share video sessions using the H.323 standard.

Version 3.1 for Windows will be available next week, The Macintosh version will be available next month.
