Microsoft Delays Windows 98 Release
by Dave Murphy
ISSN 1535-3613

Dave Murphy, DGL President & ITrain founder Microsoft Corp. announced today it will delay the release of Windows 98 until the second quarter of 1998.

Microsoft officials said today the reason is to integrate migration support for both Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 users into one version of the new operating system.

Earlier, Microsoft said that Win98 would be initially released without support for Win3 upgraders and this support would be added later; however, now only one version of Win98, with support for both Win95 and Win3 upgraders is planned.

News of the delay caused Microsoft (MSFT) shares to fall $7.25, ending at $130.69.
