META Tag Uses
Get found by search engines
Sidebar image map META tags are contained within the <HEAD> element of an HTML page. The best place to put them is between the </TITLE> and </HEAD> tags.

META Tags have a number of functions, three of them are presented here.

1. Page Refresh
<META http-equiv="refresh" content="15" URL="http://dgl.com/">
This tag will display the page in which it's placed, and then after 15 seconds, load the page "http://dgl.com/".

2. Page Description
<META Name="description" Content="Home Builders' Association Homepage">
The page description META tag incorporates a brief description of the page. The description is displayed by some search engines when your page comes up in a query result.

3. Page Keywords
<META Name="keywords" Content="house building construction foundation">
The page keywords META tag instructs some search engines to recognize the keywords, in this case, "house building construction foundation" during query searches.
