|
The new McAfee VirusScan Deluxe bundle includes several new anti-virus capabilities not previously available in McAfee's anti-virus products.
These features include convenient push-button virus signature file updating; a new ScreenScan feature for idle-time scanning; the industry's first interactive anti-virus tutorial; a hypertext virus encyclopedia; and one year of free anti-virus product upgrades. VirusScan Deluxe provides real-time protection against Internet-borne viruses, including the latest macro viruses which are common in email attachments. Recently, VirusScan received Secure Computing Magazine's Editor's Choice award thanks to its high macro virus detection and cleaning rates. The detection rates and feature enhancements can be instantly maintained by using VirusScan's push-button online updating capability. VirusScan Deluxe's integration with the 32-bit system services and user interface of Windows 95 and Windows NT makes the product easy to use and configure. The product's flexible configuration options allow customers to automate their virus detection, removal, logging and alerting. Windows 95 users can use McAfee's new ScreenScan utility to automatically initiate a virus scan when the Windows 95 standard screen saver is activated during idle time. With the introduction of an interactive anti-virus tutorial, designed by ViaGrafix, users can learn about computer viruses and virus myths; how to practice safe computing; and receive step by step instructions, tips and suggested techniques for using VirusScan for Windows 95. VirusScan Deluxe's desktop backup technology simplifies personal storage management for Windows 95 and Windows NT desktops. The software provides point and click backups to SCSI tape drives, Iomega ZIP and Jaz drives, SCSI hard drives, and recordable CD-ROMs. DGL recommends McAfee anti-virus products and has created an anti-virus page.
