MS Internet Explorer Keyboard Shortcuts
Sometimes it's nice to take a break from our mice. With Microsoft's Internet Explorer it's possible to navigate webpages using just the keyboard. Did you know that the <Tab> key will highlight the hypertext links in an HTML document? Once a hyperlinks has been highlighted it may be selected by pressing the <Enter> key. If the <Shift-Enter> combination is used, the hypertext URL will be opened in a new window. To hop between frames in an HTML document, press <Ctrl-Tab> or it's reverse, <Shift-Ctrl-Tab>. The common Netscape Navigator keyboard shortcuts work in MSIE. <Ctrl-R> reloads the current document, and <Ctrl-B> opens the "Organize Favorites" (Bookmark) window. <Alt-Left Arrow> goes "Back" to the previous page <Alt-Right Arrow> goes "Forward" to the next page <Ctrl-D> Adds the current URL to the Favorites list <Ctrl-H> opens the History folder <Ctrl-L> opens a new web page (URL selection) <Ctrl-N> opens a new browser window <Ctrl-W> closes the active Internet Explorer window
