HomeSite
A New Breed Of WebSite Development Editor

Sidebar image map HomeSite, a new HTML editor from Nick Bradbury, is worth testing for yourself.

Version 1.0 is freeware, and version 2.0, still in beta, will be released as shareware for about US$25.00. The 2.0 beta may be downloaded and used until October 15th.

For years we've been ardent advocates for HotDog Professional from Sausage Software, http://www.sausage.com/ ; however, after testing the 2.0beta of HomeSite, we're seeing serious competition for the industry-standard HotDog.

HomeSite 1.0 and 2.0 beta are available at http://www.dexnet.com/homesite.html.

Here are a few of the features that make HomeSite worth checking out (courtesy of Nick's website):

- Automatic, customizable color-coding of HTML tags
- Built-in HTML 2.0 browser
- Explorer-style pane for drag-and-drop access to documents and images
- Multiple Undo
- Frame wizard
- Support for the latest attributes, including style sheets and ActiveX controls
- Right-click display of all links within a document
- Search and replace text in single files or entire directories
- Auto-detection of image sizes
- Full-screen view for maximum viewable space
- Rulers marked with standard screen sizes
- Drag-and-drop HTML documents, images and multimedia files from Windows 95 Explorer
- Block indent/unindent
- Custom toolbars - define up to 75 of your own tags, including links to other applications
- 32-bit application from the ground up
- Written using Borland Delphi 2.0 for superb speed and stability
