Columbia, Maryland--Damar Group, Ltd. (DGL), headquartered here, announces that an agreement has been reached with Dynamic Learning Computer Centre (DLCC) of Saldanha, South Africa to translate and distribute Training Express brand computer learning guides on the African continent.

Culminating a 9-month negotiation, DGL authorizes DLCC to translate Training Express learning guides into the languages of Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu, Ovambo, as well as other language-markets that are developed by DLCC.

DLCC is responsible for the sale and distribution of the Training Express brand products in the countries of South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Sambia, Malawi, Swaziland, and Lesotho.

Effective immediately DLCC will translate computer learning guides and serve markets it has developed on the African continent.

David Stephen Murphy, President and CEO of Damar Group, Ltd. and Deborah Belinda Thompson, President of Dynamic Learning Computer Centre, are pleased to have reached an agreement that offers both companies a competitive lead in the quickly expanding African computer marketplace.

The learning guides will be authored by DGL writers in Columbia, Maryland and the United Kingdom, and they will be transmitted to South Africa via a secure Internet link.

Mrs. Thompson's and Mr. Murphy's respective companies met via the Internet in October 1995 and began exploring joint development activities. Following a 1-week visit to Columbia earlier this month by Mrs. Thompson, both parties reached an agreement that would have been impossible without access to the Internet and computer communication technology.

The companies are able to communicate via email, an Internet telephone software, and computer file transmission protocols. Based on DGL's experience with other international partners, the success of this joint venture will rest on the two organizations' ability to communicate quickly and accurately with one another.

Prior to Mrs. Thompson's leaving, a contract was signed committing both companies to the venture.
